It was evident that that was meant MERCEDES 190 SL as a small brother of the already famous MERCEDES 300 SL, because one had attached great importance to a very similar shaping.

From the outset there was that MERCEDES 190 SL only in a Cabriolet version with verdeck and a Coupé version with light alloy Hardtop.

From 1991 we have the information from the force travel Federal Office that there are 1,243 certified MERCEDES 190 SL of copies in Germany only.

On 6 February 1954 in New York on the occasion of the international engine sport Show was presented to that MERCEDES 190 SL and MERCEDES 300 SL of the public.

That MERCEDES 190 SL was however substantially more graziler than the bullige large brother despite same style items.

But one could convert easily also that MERCEDES 190 SL Cabriolet with Hardtop to the Coupé.

This sporty two-seater enjoys today of very large popularity.
